Seminar on green finance (September 2019)

Mainstreaming green finance is one of the key policy issues that Bangladesh needs to address to promote green financing for achieving sustainable development. The purpose of the event will be to introduce the NCCI members and stakeholders the policies and regulations in place to access green finance.

The seminar will encourage discussions from the facilitators as well as recipients or potential recipients of such funds on the opportunities, benefits and challenges of green finance. The event aims to bring together industry stakeholders, capital market player and regulatory agencies to formulate a sector capacity development strategy to create a more enabling environment for the private sector to invest in green and sustainable projects.

The seminar aims to take a multi-stakeholder approach and include the following actions but not limited to:

• Financial institutions and banks
• Development partners
• Regulatory agencies
• Research institutes
• Public sector and government representatives
• Private sector representatives
