The Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh (NCCI) held its 5th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 18th March 2015 at the Nordic Club in Gulshan, Dhaka. The meeting was attended by NCCI members, Representatives of the Nordic Embassies and Auditors.
The program commenced with a welcome address by NCCI President Shamim Ul Huq. “I am delighted to welcome you all. 2014 was another strong year for NCCI, the Chamber made significant strides in accomplishing the major goals of 2014”. NCCI Executive Director presented the Annual Report for the year 2014, covering the highlights of the previous year. During the AGM, minutes of the previous AGM held on the 19th March 2014, and audited financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2014 and budget for the Year 2015 were reviewed and approved by the Members. The Executive Director also presented the key features of Danida funded Energy Efficiency Engagement (3E) program to the Members. NCCI is the implementing partner of the program.
The Nordic Chamber received only one proposal for annual financial audit from Snehasish Mahmud & Co., Chartered Accountants for appointment of Statutory Auditor of the Chamber for the year 2015. The resolution was unanimously approved by the members.
Following the Annual General, election of NCCI Executive Committee was held for the year 2015. The program also featured special sessions on Corporate Sustainability and Schengen Visa Process for Businesses.
The Vice President of Corporate Sustainability and Chief Sustainability Officer at Novo Nordisk A/S presented the triple bottom line approach of Novo Nordisk towards becoming a sustainable business. Swedish Embassy Visa Counsellor Anneli Peltoniemi Sandkull presented Schengen visa process, rules and procedures to ensure hassle-free and efficient service to Nordic businesses. Both sessions witnessed a lively interaction between the speakers and the participants.
Prior to the conclusion of the meeting, NCCI Executive Committee extended appreciation and gratitude to all Members, Nordic Embassies, Sponsors and Secretariat’s Staff for their dedication and commitment in taking the Chamber forward. The program concluded over a networking session among the participants.
