The Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh (NCCI), the platform of Nordic entities in the country, announced its new Executive Committee for 2017. Shamim Ul Huq, Managing Director of Maersk Bangladesh, has been re-elected as the President of the Nordic Chamber.
The election was conducted by the Election Commission as per Trade Organization Rules 1994 of Government of Bangladesh. The elected candidates were Shamim Ul Huq from Maersk Bangladesh Ltd., Imitiaz Ilahi from Graphicpeople Ltd., Ahmed Kabir from Arla Foods Bangladesh Ltd., Tareq Rahman from Swedish Motors Ltd., Hans Henrichsen from Telenor Group, Gustaf Asp from Puls Trading Far East Ltd. and Anand Shetty from Novo Nordisk.
Imtiaz Ilahi, Managing Director of Graphicpeople Ltd. was elected to serve as the Vice President, Ahmed Kabir, DGM of Arla Foods Bangladesh Ltd. as the Secretary General and Hans Henrichsen, Chief Representative Officer of Telenor Group as the Treasurer. The other candidates were elected as Members of the Executive Committee and will be performing the duties as Directors to the Board.
The Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh (NCCI) was founded on 23rd November 2010 as a joint initiative of the Nordic Companies and Embassies in Bangladesh. The Nordic businesses have a strong presence in Bangladesh, making significant contributions in various sectors.
